During the Bootcamp, start-ups and companies operating in the area will have the opportunity to introduce themselves, tell their story and get to know each other, generating new synergies and projects for innovation in the area.

Hackathon

Are you a university student or PhD student in Italy and would like to put your knowledge into practice to make the future more sustainable and circular? Participate in the Hackathon to be held on October 2 and 3 at the Jonian Department of the University of Bari and select a challenge. All challenge information, registration and prizes will be shared soon.

The aim of the Hackathon is to give rise to new innovative and entrepreneurial projects and expand the knowledge and culture of the circular economy among young people. Participants will have the opportunity to put their knowledge and passion for sustainability into practice by working on predefined challenges. The focus will be on 3 thematic macro-areas: EcoWave: Green & Blue solutions for the City of the Two Seas; Textile waste; Agrifood.

Teams of a minimum of two up to a maximum of five people can participate in the initiative, but it is also possible to register for the event as an individual: the organisers will then create a series of teams comprising members with heterogeneous skills.

More information on prizes, challenges and event details will be shared soon.

ENI JOULE

EcoWave: Green & Blue solutions for the City of the Two Seas

In recent decades, the city of Taranto has demonstrated how necessary and fundamental it is to act in the urban context by applying the principles of the Circular Economy. Through Joule, the business school, Eni implements and participates in various innovation programmes that also include the themes of sustainable land and sea mobility.
Considering the specific needs of the city of Taranto, the challenge wants to involve young people and innovators, who with their ‘wave’ of enthusiasm and awareness will be able to push the ‘two seas’ towards a path of sustainability, the only winning path for their and their territory’s future.attis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

TOMA ITALIAN BRANDS GROUP

Textile waste

Waste in the textile sector is a rapidly growing environmental problem: over 92 million tonnes of textile waste are produced globally annually. Fast fashion, overproduction and limited recycling options contribute significantly to the problem. Toma Italian Brands Group is an Apulian company specialising in the design, production, and distribution of 100% Made-in-Italy menswear collections. It is working to reduce and minimise this problem.
The proposed challenge is dedicated to the recovery and reuse of textile materials: participants will be invited to find innovative and circular strategies to reduce waste and encourage the creation of circular solutions that give new life to used garments and fibres.

PASTERIA BONTÀ

Agrifood

Sustainability in the agri-food sector is a crucial challenge for the future. Pasteria Bontà, engaged in producing high-quality artisanal pasta, invites participants to propose innovative solutions that promote the principles of the circular economy. The aim is to reduce waste along the entire supply chain, from the efficient use of raw materials to the recovery of production waste.
The challenge is aimed at those who want to transform agrifood into a more sustainable sector, with projects that enhance local resources, improve waste management and promote circular production and consumption models.
